Updated AUG 4, 2015 at 11:45a ET Ohio State’s top-rated 2016 recruiting class took a hit Monday when Terrell Hall announced he is no longer committed to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes. Hall, a four-star defensive end from Washington, D.C., is reportedly interested in Alabama after recently spending a week in Tuscaloosa. He was also in Columbus for Ohio State’s recent “Friday Night Lights” one-day camp. Scout.com reports Hall is considering the Crimson Tide along with Penn State and the nearby Maryland Terrapins. The door is not closed on his return to the OSU recruiting class, either. While losing a player ranked in the Scout 300 is never good news, defensive end is a position Ohio State could arguably afford to do so. Meyer’s class still has three ends, including five-star Nick Bosa of Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas and four-star prospect Jonathon Cooper of Ohio’s Gahanna Lincoln High School. Respectively they are the No. 1 and 5-ranked players at their position nationally. Also part of the class is Malik Barrow, a three-star prospect at IMG Academy in Florida. He is rated No. 45 nationally at the position while Hall is No. 33. Bosa and Barrow both committed since Hall made his pledge to the Buckeyes in March, and Cooper was widely regarded as having a phenomenal summer on the camp circuit. (H/T Scout.com)
