But this time, he’s the one controlling the camera as two high school friends follow the senior with a drone during his last season in Columbus. Braxton Miller is finally here (a camera drone was buzzing around him too) pic.twitter.com/afmxlHcUda — Eric Seger (@EricSeger33) August 9, 2015 Using an iPad to watch Miller from afar, the duo of Regis Williams, an Ohio State journalism student, and filmmaker Korey Faulks began documenting the OSU senior with a Phantom 3 Vision camera drone this weekend as the Buckeyes checked in for fall camp. After sitting out the entire 2014 season recovering from injury, Miller switched from quarterback to receiver/H-back for his senior year, allowing fellow signal-callers J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones to fight in a two-man race for the starting spot. While there isn’t an official name for the film, Williams says the working title is “The Return of the Real.” The drone followed Miller as soon as he hopped out of a Camaro on Sunday, and Williams and Faulks said no one’s responded negative towards the buzzing camera flying above the star players head. In total, Faulks said the equipment cost him around $1,800 between the drone, iPad, camera, warranty and memory card. The project is in its very early stages, but so far the two say there have been no negative responses, even from head coach Urban Meyer, and they plan to paint the drone scarlet and gray OSU colors.
