OSU offensive line has bright future

COLUMBUS — The biggest men on the Ohio State campus are not who you might suspect.

Cardale Jones, Ezekiel Elliott, and Joey Bosa? Nah. The Buckeyes this year feature a more authentic Big Three.

Blue-chip freshmen offensive linemen Kevin Feder, Isaiah Prince, and Branden Bowen are not merely large.

“They may be the biggest threesome in the history of college football in one class,” line coach and co-offensive coordinator Ed Warinner said.

Feder stands above every other player in the Big Ten at 6 feet, 9 inches and is joined by the 6-7 Prince and Bowen.

For perspective, Feder would have regularly been the tallest player on the court for the Buckeyes’ basketball team last season. But, no, the towering triumvirate does not play basketball.

“I’ll tell people who ask that I play these ridiculous sports,” Bowen said, laughing. “Water polo, badminton … ”

If Bowen is in a better mood, he tells inquisitors, “Yeah, I’ve tried it, but then I gained 70 pounds between my freshman and sophomore year in high school. So that dream sank real quick.”
