Ohio State: 4 Buckeyes Named To ESPN’s Preseason All American Team

After being named the number one team in the AP poll, the Ohio State football team has multiple players gaining their own individual preseason recognition. Four Ohio State football players have been named to ESPN’s Preseason All American Team. The players recognized were RB Ezekiel Elliott, OG Pat Elflein, DE Joey Bosa and S Vonn Bell. The Buckeyes will be without Bosa for the first game of the season against Virginia Tech due to a suspension. Ohio State lost their only game against the Hokies last season on their way to a win in the national championship game in college football’s first playoff. Bosa is one of four players who will miss the season opener, but Ohio State has plenty of depth to overcome those losses for one game while they head to Virginia and come out with a win. If he continues to maintain a similar level of success this fall, then the Buckeyes’ RB could be a top contender for the Heisman Trophy award at the end of the season. He has not peaked as a player, and it would not be surprising if he did in fact win the trophy. Though it is difficult to have RBs gain enough interest and votes for the award, Elliott would be the first player to win from Ohio State since Troy Smith in 2006. …
