College football preview: Ohio State starts where it finished

This season, I will be one of the voters in the Associated Press Top 25 poll that will be released each week throughout the college football season.

Below is the Top 25 ballot I submitted to the AP for the preseason poll, as well as a brief explanation of what I like about that team, or why I put them were I did.

1. Ohio State (Last year: 14-1, won national title)

Unanimous choice for No. 1, the defending champion Buckeyes are loaded with talent, including Heisman Trophy candidates at QB (JT Barrett or Cardale Jones) and RB (Ezekiel Elliott) and the best DE in the country (Joey Bosa).

2. TCU (LY: 12-1)

Hard to believe this team was 4-8 in 2013. QB Trevone Boykin could win the Heisman, as he leads a sensational offense.

3. Auburn (LY: 8-5)

With a Heisman candidate at QB (Jeremy Johnson) and a defense that returns most of it’s starting lineup, the Tigers are primed for a big year.
