No, Ohio State Does Not Have a Problem at Wide Receiver

Devin Smith is gone. Evan Spencer is too. H-back Jalin Marshall is suspended. So is his fellow H-back Dontre Wilson. And so is talented wideout Corey Smith. None of them will play in the Buckeyes’ tricky Week 1 opener against Virginia Tech. Oh, and if that weren’t enough to deal with, the Buckeyes last week suffered another loss at wideout, as promising sophomore Noah Brown suffered a season-ending injury during practice. That’s five playmakers. All gone. But here’s thing: Even though Ohio State lost two of its biggest playmakers from 2014, and even though the Buckeyes will be without four guys who were being counted on to make up for the loss of Smith and Spencer, the simple reality of the matter is that this team will still charge onto the field at Lane Stage with plenty of confidence in their offense.
