NCAA Football Frenzy — 10 storylines setting up new season

When we last indulged in NCAA pigskin, there was much jubilance. Fans and officials alike were trumpeting the success of the inaugural College Football Playoff. And the Ohio State Buckeyes were being hailed mighty kings of the four-team CFB playoff, even if other teams — think TCU and Baylor — were more deserving of that OSU spot in the much-ballyhooed bracket. OK, OK, so it’s about time to give Urban Meyer and his Buckeyes their due, especially after first triumphing over the Alabama Crimson Tide 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl semifinal and then dominating the Oregon Ducks 42-20 in the CFB National Championship Game. Clap, clap … But now it’s time to turn our attention to a new NCAA football campaign, which begins Thursday with 18 games, including North Carolina vs. South Carolina, Michigan at Utah and TCU at Minnesota.
