Recruiting: MSU offers son of ex-Lions safety White

One of the players MSU offered is Powell (Ohio) Olentangy Liberty’s Brendon White. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound White is no stranger to big time college football. His father was former Ohio State Buckeye and former Detroit Lions safety William White. MSU is the fifth team to offer White a full scholarship, joining Boston College, Illinois, Marshall and Toledo. A host of other BCS programs are keeping a close eye on him and could make a move now that MSU is involved. Rivals.com ranks White a three-star recruit and the No. 11 player in Ohio for the class of 2017. They also have him as the No. 22 Athlete recruit in the nation. “Recruiting coach (Curtis) Blackwell told me to call Coach Dantonio,” White said. …
