No Comparing Ohio State Vulnerablity to Virginia Tech to 2014

Football fans are quick to leap to conclusions. Ohio State playing Monday night at Virginia Tech with a suspension-depleted lineup is the latest example. Yes, the Buckeyes are without All-American defensive end Joey Bosa and three offensive players, H-backs Dontre Wilson and Jalin Marshall and wide receiver Corey Smith. Wilson was a starter last year until he broke his foot and Marshall replaced him. Smith is a backup. All four were suspended for the ubiquitous “violating team rules” explanation. But missing those four fails to present similar circumstances to last year when inexperienced quarterback J.T. Barrett played in place of injured returning starter Braxton Miller. Barrett and a young offensive line stumbled to a 35-21 loss to the Hokies at home in Ohio Stadium. It will be much harder for Virginia Tech to pull off a second straight upset against the Buckeyes, even though this time the Hokies have home-field advantage at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg.
