Hawaii football to play Oregon, Arizona in future years COLOMBUS, Ohio (HawaiiNewsNow) – The University of Hawaii football team trails the top-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 14-0 at halftime. Ohio State, coming off a short week after playing on the road against Virginia Tech on Monday, got off to a sluggish start. Quarterback Cardale Jones, who started Saturday’s game, was replaced by J.T. Barrett in the second quarter. All-purpose athlete Braxton Miller also saw snaps at quarterback, but played most of the first half at wide receiver. Despite giving up nearly 230 yards of offense in the first half, Hawaii’s defense was largely able to prevent big plays, giving up only short touchdown runs for both of Ohio State’s touchdowns. Hawaii Quarterback Max Wittek started the first half 2 for 3 before missing 12 of his next 13 throws. He managed only 35 yards passing in the first half and was intercepted twice.
