Buckeyes Lose Some Votes, Still Number 1

(AP) -Ohio State remains the top team in this week’s The Associated Press college football poll.           But the Buckeyes, who were a unanimous choice last week, lost two of the first-place votes to Michigan State.            That helped the Spartans jump a spot to No. 4 after their three-point win at home to Oregon which slipped five spots to No. 12.          Auburn took a 12-place plunge despite winning.  The problem for the now No. 18 Tigers is that they needed overtime to beat FCS power Jacksonville State.           Alabama and TCU remain second and third respectively, with Baylor rounding out the top five.           Then it’s Southern Cal, Georgia, Notre Dame, Florida State and UCLA.
