Cardale Jones once again started at quarterback for the Buckeyes, but J.T. Barrett saw time under center for the last three series of the second quarter, going 8-for-15 with 70 yards, as well as one carry for seven yards. Northern Illinois, also standing at 2–?0, posted a convincing 57–?26 win last Saturday against Murray State. In the win, quarterback Drew Hare was 29 of 38 for 358 yards and four touchdowns.
