Ohio State suspends starting defensive back Damon Webb

When Ohio State takes on Northern Illinois on Saturday, it will be doing so without the services of its starting nickel corner. The school announced Saturday that cornerback Damon Webb has been suspended for a violation of team rules. It’s unknown how long Webb’s suspension will last. Webb had seen plenty of time on the field for the Buckeyes through their first two games, playing at the nickelback position. He has eight tackles on the season, after spending most of the 2014 season on special teams duty. The latest from SportsLineWebb had been in a battle with safety Cam Burrows for the nickel spot during the summer, so odds are that Burrows will start in his place against the Huskies. Damon Webb (7) has eight tackles through the first two games of the season. (USATSI)
