4-Star Ohio State Commits Demario McCall and Austin Mack Dominate the Week

The Ohio State Buckeyes, searching for their second straight national championship with a high-powered offensive attack, enjoyed an early look at future contributors during the latest weekend of high school football action.

Running back Demario McCall and wide receiver Austin Mack, both members of the top-ranked 2016 Buckeyes recruiting class, enjoyed exceptional efforts in early senior-season matchups. The pair of promising playmakers combined to account for five scores, leading their respective high school teams to victory.

McCall, an in-state standout, led North Ridgeville High School to a 23-13 win over Olmsted Falls High School. The 5’11”, 180-pound prospect started strong Friday night and maintained momentum throughout.

He sprinted for a 66-yard score on the team’s second play from scrimmage of the evening, according to Joe Noga of the Northeast Ohio Media Group.

The onslaught continued as McCall collected 175 yards in the contest, per Robert Fenbers of the Morning Journal.

The 4-star prospect helped lead his team to the win with a 57-yard touchdown run later in the game. He projects to compete for a premier role in the Buckeyes backfield, potentially filling the paramount position of H-back in Columbus.

Earlier in September, McCall told Bleacher Report he expects to face considerable competition at Ohio State, where head coach Urban Meyer claims three 4-star running back pledges in the 2016 class.
