Mandatory Credit: Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports The Ohio State football team (5-0) hosts its first Big Ten game at Ohio Stadium against the Maryland Terrapins (2-3). The Buckeyes are heavy favorites entering the contest, and these 5 reasons show why Ohio State will clobber the dismal Terrapins. Ezekiel Elliott When Ezekiel Elliott gets going, Ohio State’s offensive troubles disappear. The Heisman candidate has now rushed for 100 yards in 10 straight contests, and he’s hit the century mark in every game this season, proving to be Ohio State’s most consistent weapon. Zeke’s mark should extend to 11 consecutive games as he goes up against a deplorable Terrapin defense. A roster of Ohio State’s freshman would probably give Maryland more than it can handle, so imagine what Elliott, who’s coming off a 274-yard performance against Indiana. Remember, of all Ohio State’s playmakers, Elliott was the one favored to win the Heisman entering the season. Some of that had to do with the secrecy of whom would be starting at quarterback, but a lot of it had to do with what Elliott did against Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon at the end of last season. The Terrapins enter the game allowing 199.8 yards yard per game on the ground, and have surrendered nine touchdowns.
