3 predictions for Maryland vs. Ohio State

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports Three things to watch out for as the Terps take on the No. 1 team in the land. This Saturday, the Maryland football team will take on No. 1 Ohio State in what looks to be the team’s toughest matchup of the season. Here are three things to look for: This will be another blowout While Ohio State might not be as good as its No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll makes it look, the Buckeyes are still light years ahead of the Terps in just about every phase of the game. S&P predicts that Ohio State will win by 20 points, but seeing as Maryland just lost to Michigan by 28, it could very well end up being more than that. Ezekiel Elliot will have a rushing touchdown of 40+ yards Ohio State’s tailback is absolutely tearing up opposing defenses this season, bringing a  7.3 yards-per-carry average into Saturday’s matchup. Elliot has the ability to break away for a long run every time he touches the ball, and short of Leonard Fournette, he might be the most explosive runner in the nation. Maryland’s rushing defense is 60th in the country in rushing defense, according to S&P+, which, while better than the team’s 75th-ranked passing defense, still probably won’t be able to hold up for an entire game against this Buckeye ground game. You’ll see more than one Maryland quarterback Ideally, the Terrapins’ coaching staff would stick with one guy under center after such a back-and-forth season so far, but whoever does start against Ohio State is unlikely to perform well. This Buckeye defense is just too good, and Maryland can’t subject one quarterback to Joey Bosa all afternoon
