After the top-ranked Buckeyes opened the half in familiarly listless fashion — the Terrapins tied the game at 21 on a nine-play, 69-yard touchdown drive — they responded with back-to-back trips to the end zone. Cardale Jones completed a 48-yard touchdown pass to Jalin Marshall while J.T. Barrett — the Buckeyes’ new red-zone quarterback — followed with a one-yard TD run on the hosts’ ensuing drive. HALFTIME Ohio State leads Maryland 21-14 after a languid first half at Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes went ahead 21-7 on a two-yard touchdown run by Ezekiel Ellliott and a 19-yard touchdown pass from Cardale Jones to Braxton Miller. But Maryland answered with a two-play 73-yard touchdown drive — both plays runs by backup quarterback Perry Hills — just before halftime.  Jones has completed 15-of-20 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown. J.T. Barrett, who relieved Jones twice in the red zone, completed his only pass attempt for 20 yards and has four rushes for seven yards.  OSU finished off both of his drives with touchdowns.
