0 Shares Print COLUMBUS, Ohio — LeBron James’ connection to Ohio State University has been well chronicled. He won state championships on their campus while in high school. He keeps a permanent locker in the Buckeyes men’s basketball locker room. He selected Ohio State as one of four schools to wear his signature Nike sneakers. And he even chartered a flight to witness the OSU football team’s national championship win over Oregon in person in January. But all those connections and clout within the university don’t mean that James is about to overstep his welcome by telling coach Urban Meyer how to run his football team. “Hey, man, I’m not here to coach,” James said Monday morning at the Schottenstein Center, where the Cleveland Cavaliers were having shootaround in advance of their preseason game with the Memphis Grizzlies. “He’s great because he doesn’t need to listen to guys like me.
