Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Huge Underdogs at Ohio State

For the first time in the 2015 season the Penn State Nittany Lions enter a game as the underdogs. Despite being 5-1 with a five-game winning streak, the Nittany Lions are not being given much of a chance this week in Columbus. Ohio State opens the week as huge favorites over visiting Penn State. More from Victory Bell Rings Vegas currently sees Penn State as a 21-point underdog. The line is not surprising, as the Buckeyes are still the number one team in the country and are very tough to beat, especially inside of Ohio Stadium. Penn State last visited Columbus in 2013 and limped home with one of the worst defeats in school history, losing 63-14. Penn State, despite showing improvement over the last several weeks, still has a lot of issues to work out, especially on offense. The offense has been inconsistent, due in large part to a porous offensive line. Quarterback Christian Hackenberg has really struggled for much of the year and has failed to put up the numbers that many expected he would. Fortunately for the Nittany Lions they may be hitting their stride at just the right time. In Saturday’s 29-7 domination of the Indiana Hoosiers, Hackenberg looked great and the offense was finally able to make some big plays when needed.
