FINALLY, the Penn State Nittany Lions are set to leave the state of Pennsylvania for their first game, and it’s quite a test. Here are my early-week thoughts on PSU-Ohio State … THREE IS NOT A CROWD. Ah, the Ohio State quarterback situation. So many choices, so few spots. But give Urban Meyer and his talented players — Cardale Jones, J.T. Barrett and Braxton Miller — credit for adjusting and making it work. PSU can expect to see them in different spots at different times and all three have unique talents. Take a look at the production from Ohio State’s 49-28 win over Maryland last Saturday. Jones and Barrett combined for 317 passing yards and two touchdowns (Jones was 21 of 28 for 291 yards and both scores), the trio combined to rush for 92 yards on 21 carries with Barrett scoring three times and Miller caught five passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.
