College Football: Blown opportunities cost Penn State in loss

After gaining just 57 yards in the first quarter, Ohio State started to flex its offensive muscle in the second quarter, which began with the entry of Barrett at quarterback for the first play. After yielding 21 first-quarter points and 308 first-half yards, TCU tightened up considerably in the second half, forcing two turnovers and keeping the Cyclones (2-4, 1-2) off the scoreboard.

The Nittany Lions had a 3-0 lead after a quarter, sparking the weekly panic over the Buckeyes’ offense.

“Their efficiency was high”, Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer said at his weekly press conference. The win puts Ohio State’s record at (7-0, 3-0) and Penn State’s at (5-2, 2-1).
