Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett suspended after OVI arrest, website reports

Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett has been suspended one game after being arrested early Saturday morning for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The arrest was first reported by Elevewarriors.com after Barrett was cited by Columbus, Ohio police, and the school later announced that Barrett will not play for the No. 1-ranked Buckeyes’ in their Nov. 7 game against Minnesota. Ohio State has an open date this weekend. Whether or not the suspension is ongoing is up to the discretion of Buckeye’s coach Urban Meyer. Ohio State has been ranked No. 1 in both the Associated Press and coaches polls. The College Football Playoff committee poll will release its first poll Tuesday. Barrett only recently regained his starting job from Cardale Jones and help the Buckeyes  to a 49-7 victory against Rutgers. **************Jim Kleinpeter can be reached at jkleinpeter@nola.com or 504.826.3405.  Follow @JimKleinpeter Tweet to @JimKleinpeter
