Occasionally his desire to touch it will delay practice, and Ohio State coach Urban Meyer will have to call the standout safety back to join the defense after an unnecessary return of an interception when the Buckeyes have more pressing issues to work on than Bell’s moves. Sometimes his excitement spills over enough that Bell puts in a request for work on the offensive side of the ball, which would give him a couple extra chances to potentially score and probably an easier path than from his full-time spot in the secondary. But the truth is, the hard way works just fine for Bell, who has already touched his beloved splash of color in the end zone a couple times this season, thanks to his ball-hawking ability and athleticism once he gets his hands on a turnover.
