Other football players helped organize food in the food pantry and wrapped presents. Eli Apple, a cornerback for the OSU Buckeye football team said he welcomes a diversion from football every now and then. “This really takes your mind of the game for a second. And has your mind on something more important than football,” he explained. The President and CEO of LifeCare Alliance, Chuck Gehring said these players have been helping seniors in the community for several years and many people weren’t aware of it. “We’ve kind of spend the week in Columbus, Ohio complaining about the game last weekend. And we don’t people don’t recognize what else goes on with that football team,” said Gehring. Last year members of the OSU football team packed 1,200 dinners for Meals on Wheels.
