Former Ohio State RB Maurice Clarett pleads guilty to DUI

Former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett has pleaded guilty to DUI charges stemming from his arrest on Jan. 3, reports Dean Narciso of the Columbus Dispatch. Clarett, 32, could face up to 60 days in jail and a $1,000 fine for the charges. However, the punishment will be reduced to three days and $400 upon completion of a two-year probation and a driver intervention program.  This is not the first run in with the law for the star of the 2002 National Championship team. Clarett was indicted on robbery charges in February 2002 and later arrested for leading officers on a car chase in August 2006.  He was eventually sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, but was released early in 2010. • Report: 13 of 28 Ole Miss NCAA violations involve football Clarett last played for the Omaha Nighthawks of the now defunct United Football League.
