Buckeyes not interested in Florida Spring Break trip

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Most college students can’t wait to get to Florida for their Spring Break. Do not count Ohio State football players among them, at least for the time being. OSU head coach Urban Meyer and athletic director Gene Smith addressed questions Tuesday about OSU’s potential interest in planning a football spring break trip to Florida, similar to what Michigan did a few weeks ago. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh arranged for the Wolverines to practice in Bradenton, FL during Michigan’s spring break week. The intent was to bring Michigan football closer to talent-rich Florida, as high school coaches and players were invited to attend. Ohio State says they do not want their student-athletes to give up their spring break to go on such a trip. Smith says if OSU was trying to “jump start our program” they would consider it, but he says Ohio State is not in that position. Share this: Advertisement
