C.J. Jackson woke up Tuesday morning as an almost universal unknown among the Ohio State fan base. A little more than a month ago, the same held true for Jackson’s relationship with the Buckeyes men’s basketball coaching staff. The former changed Tuesday morning with a tweet. The latter changed about a month ago. Now it all adds up to a verbal commitment that figures to add needed backcourt depth for the Buckeyes. >> Follow BuckeyeXtra on Facebook and Twitter ‘As crazy as it sounds, it was kind of an interesting situation because I had a lot of coaches express how I could help their program, but something inside of me wanted to be a part of Ohio State,’ Jackson told The Dispatch on Tuesday night. ‘It’s a relief off my shoulders. Now I can just worry about finishing out my school year here.’ It’s been a long process for Jackson, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. After initially committing to play for George Mason, Jackson reconsidered when the coach to whom he committed, Paul Hewitt, was fired shortly thereafter.
