Giants, Jets Look to Ohio State in NFL Draft

The Giants with the 10th overall pick, took cornerback Eli Apple, while the Jets selected linebacker Darron Lee, with the 20th pick. In total, five Buckeyes were taken in the first 20 picks of the draft. At No. 10, the Giants made a decision that few analysts saw coming but seemed to have a rationale for adding Apple to a secondary that already includes corners Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and free-agent acquisition Janoris Jenkins. “When you have two corners in this league, you’re short one because the offensive teams throw the ball so much and you’ve got to have three quality corners to really get out there and function at a high level,” Reese said. “I’m excited to get with those guys and really get to work and try to build a great secondary and be legendary,” Apple said.
