The 6-foot-1, 200-pound Apple finished the 2015 season with 33 total tackles, including 23 solo stops to go along with two tackles for lost yardage. Also, Apple intercepted one pass, which he returned for an eight-yard gain, and recovered a fumble. “He’s very physical,” former Buckeyes safety Vonn Bell said of Apple. “He wants to get his hands on you, and he can run with you also, and he wants to take away the best player in the game. “We just always had that communication and that connection together. We always just studied film and just knew what the top receivers would do, so we were right there. We knew our opponent, and mainly, we just wanted to make plays with each other and go out there and have fun.” Apple does not lack for confidence, whether it be on or off the football field. …
