Ohio State lost a four-star recruit because Urban Meyer didn’t recognize him

The class of 2017 football prospect from Cocoa, Fla., had orally committed to Ohio State shortly after the Buckeyes beat Oregon to win the inaugural College Football Playoff championship. After he pledged to play for Ohio State, Judson said Coach Urban Meyer began ignoring him. “Coach Meyer contacted me enough to get my commitment,” Judson said in a Thursday interview with SEC Country. “Then once he got me, he told me make sure I keep calling him. But after a couple of months, he just stopped talking to me.” Judson, who is rated a four-star athlete by ESPN and Rivals.com, broke his commitment to Ohio State back in October, citing a lack of communication with Meyer. In an article published Thursday, Judson told SEC Country writer Zach Abolverdi about the last straw that convinced him to sever ties with Meyer and the Buckeyes.
