Urban Meyer Lifts Ban On Wearing Color Blue For One Day//

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer has lifted his ban on the color blue in favor of “Patriot Week.” If you are ever around Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, chances are that you do not want to be wearing something blue, the color of the Buckeyes’ hated rival Michigan. That unofficial rule of abstaining from blue will, however, be relaxed for at least one day.Leading into Memorial Day weekend, Meyer is putting his football players through “Patriot Week,” where they will attend seminars on the importance of voting and the governmental system. On Friday, the colors of the United State will be worn, even the dreaded blue.“We’ll make an exception that day,” Meyer said per The Columbus Dispatch. The players will also have to pass a test on what they have learned during the week before they can leave for the long break. So, what has caused Meyer to let the color of “That Team Up North” be worn? It’s not due to a lessened hatred for Michigan, as we all know Meyer hasn’t stopped going full speed to win at the highest level. This is about pure, unadulterated patriotism. After all, Meyer was born in Toledo, meaning he is a true-blooded American with strong Midwestern roots. Heck it wouldn’t be that surprising if news leaked that he drives a pickup truck, has a dog named Scout, and swears on the Bible every night that this is the greatest damn country to ever exist.Or maybe this runs deeper. Only 51, could we possibly see Meyer eventually enter the political arena? He would definitely carry the Ohio vote – a key state in the presidential election. Looking at our national political landscape right now, could you possibly rule it out?Nevertheless, Ohio State players will be wearing blue on Friday for a special reason. They better enjoy it, as that gear likely won’t be allowed in the practice facility ever again.MORE: Ohio State Football Preview 2016 – Keys To Success, Prediction
