Ohio State men’s basketball announces 2016-17 non-conference schedule

COLUMBUS, Ohio -The Ohio State men’s basketball team has released their non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The Buckeyes will open the season Nov. 11 against at Navy in the Veterans Classic. Ohio State will then play five games at home against NC Central (Nov. 14), Providence (Nov. 17), Western Carolina (Nov. 21), Jackson State (Nov. 23) and Marshall (Nov. 25). The team will wrap up November on the road against Virginia. December includes another five home games and a neutral court matchup against UCLA in the CBSSports Classic. “With the experience we return from our core group from last season, we’ve put together a non-conference schedule that will challenge our team and put us in a good position for what again is expected to be a very competitive Big Ten Conference schedule,” Thad Matta, Ohio State head coach, said. “November matchups against Providence and Virginia as well as back-to-back games against Connecticut and UCLA in December will test our team as we look to grow heading in to Big Ten play.” The 18-game Big Ten slate will be released at a later date. …
