Why Ohio State Football Players Are Doing the Pledge of Allegiance Before Workouts

The last time doing the Pledge Of Allegiance was mandatory was in elementary school. Well, that’s not the case for the Ohio State football team. RELATED: 57 Percent of Ohioans Believe Ohio State Would Beat the Cleveland Browns Before every summer workout in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, players must say the Pledge Of Allegiance. This is just one way the Buckeyes’ football program is honoring America with Patriot Week. Memorial Day is right around the corner, and head coach Urban Meyer is making his players participate in a number of patriotic activities to honor the holiday. The week includes attending seminars on the democratic system and the importance of voting, and partaking in a Memorial Day workout, during which the players will wear red, white and blue. Yes, players are even allowed to wear the forbidden color blue for this one day only. What a great way to honor our country. It should be done at every college. Hats off the the OSU football program.
