Ohio State lands huge commitment from 5-star OL Wyatt Davis

By Dan Stack Posted on June 24, 2016 Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes just secured the services of one of the better offensive lineman in the 2017 class Friday when 5-star offensive guard Wyatt Davis verbally committed to Ohio State. Davis made his announcement Friday at a press conference at his high school. Simply put, this is a huge addition for Meyer and the Buckeyes, as Davis is rated as the best offensive guard in the 2017 class according to 247Sports. Davis has great bloodlines, too, as he is the grandson of Hall of Famer Willie Davis. Ryan Bartow of 247Sports reported on the commitment and broke down why Davis opted for Ohio State. More from Bartow: “Ohio State is really the place I feel I can succeed at,” Davis said. “I can reach all of my goals in football there. They can develop me into a great man and it’s a place I would like to be even if football doesn’t work out. It’s the right place for me and it’s always been my dream school.” Davis, a 6’5”, 310-pound guard from Bellflower, California (St. John Bosco High School) is rated as a 5-star recruit according to 247Sports, as well as the top offensive guard in the 2017 class. The site also ranks Davis as the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2017 class and the fifth-best football player in the state of California.
