It was a busy day for the Ohio State Buckeyes as they nabbed one of the top prospects in the 2017 class as five-star recruit Wyatt Davis (St John Bosco. Bellflower, CA) committed to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes. This news was first reported by Ryan Bartow of 247Sports. Davis is the No. 14 overall player in the ’17 class, he ranks as the No. 1 guard and the No. 5 player in the talent-rich state of California, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. This commitment from the California recruit is another example of Meyer and Ohio State extending their reach beyond the state of Ohio to get a player they want. In addition to the pipelines in Ohio and Florida, Meyer and his staff are plucking five-star talent from the west coast as they look to replenish a roster that lost 12 players to the 2016 NFL Draft.
