Ohio State Football: 4 reasons why it's finally JT Barrett's team

The last two seasons for Ohio State football have had their fair share of headlines.  The 2014 campaign started off with quarterback Braxton Miller going down for the year in fall camp.  It worked out though, and the Buckeyes came together through an injury-riddled season to win the first College Football Playoff.  Last year had all the drama one could ask for.  There was too much drama, however, and the season did not turn out how the Bucks had hoped.  An unfortunate late season loss ruined the chances to repeat.  This year, there’s no debating.  Fourth year junior quarterback JT Barrett has the keys, and these are the reasons why: Staying on schedule Too many times during last season, the offense seemed to be stuck in a rut.  Last year’s starting QB for the first half of the year was Cardale Jones.  Jones, a draft pick by the Buffalo Bills, has a howitzer of a right arm and all the physical tools.  Barrett brought a different kind of spark to the offense, though. He rarely gets behind in the down and distance, and has been a consistent chain mover from the jump. There are not many third and long situations with him under center, given his sound decision-making and running ability when plays break down.  This also allows the creative mind of head coach Urban Meyer to open up the playbook in exotic ways.
