ESPN writer predicts OU over Ohio State; OSU over Pitt in Week 3

From Staff Reports Posted: Wednesday June 29, 2016 1:17 pm ESPN’s Brandon Chatmon predicts that both the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys will begin their seasons 3-0. However, both will be challenged with Power-5 opponents in Week 3; OSU with Pittsburgh, and OU with Ohio State. “The Cowboys barely survive their toughest nonconference matchup of the season, winning after a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown receptions from James Washington,” Chatmon writes, predict a 30-24 OSU victory. “Neither offense takes control of the game until Oklahoma State turns up its tempo and leans largely on Mason Rudolph and Washington to carry the offense after halftime.” As for OU, which Chatmon predicts will win 35-34, “One of the most anticipated games of the season lives up to the hype. Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett each look like Heisman-worthy quarterbacks in a exceptionally entertaining game featuring big plays from both squads. “The Sooners’ running back duo of Samaje Perine and Joe Mixon end up deciding the outcome combining with more than 200 total yards, combining to cement the win as the stars of a clock-draining final drive after the Buckeyes pulled within a point midway through the final quarter.” Click here to read more at ESPN. × Are you sure you want to report this comment?
