Three-star 2017 OL Joel Honigford Commits to Michigan

The Wolverines added the 17th member of the 2017 class on Wednesday. Michigan football has received a commitment from class of 2017 offensive lineman Joel Honigford (Sugarcreek, Ohio), according to his Twitter account. Honigford is a three-star prospect and the 48th-ranked offensive tackle in the class of 2017, according to the 247 Composite rankings. His commitment comes as a bit of a surprise with the Wolverines beating out Oregon, Auburn and Michigan State, who many saw as the leader for his services. Offensive line recruiting was moving a bit slow for the Wolverines, but Honigford’s commitment gives them two pledges at the position in the last week, joining fellow three-star Andrew Stueber. Four-star JaRaymond Hall is the third in the class so far. The Wolverines now sit at 17 commitments in their 2017 cycle and have the second-ranked class in the Big Ten behind Ohio State. The class also ranks fourth nationally behind the Buckeyes, Alabama and Oklahoma, respectively. We will have the film review on Honigford’s skill set up shortly.
