Jones is next at Pope John

Taj Jones is one to watch in 2019. Ohio State landed a good one out of Sparta (NJ) Pope John XXIII in the 2014 class in wide receiver Noah Brown and the talent has continued to flow from the program since that time. The next up is class of 2019 wide receiver Taj Jones. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound prospect was a top performer this past weekend at The Show at The Hall in Canton, Ohio. Jones is still waiting for his first offer and has a number of schools that he would like to hear from, but there are three programs that Jones particularly wants to learn more about as the process unfolds. “I’d like to hear from any school that’s interested in me,” Jones explained. “But my favorite schools are Stanford, Florida State, and Ohio State.” Jones discussed what he likes about each of the three schools. On Stanford – “I like how every year they seem to come back with a good team. It’s a strong academic program and they have great coaching. I like how they incorporate the academics with their football program.” On Florida State – “It’s just something about those southern schools that I like. Florida State is always winning.” On Ohio State -“I like them because of Noah Brown. Obviously they’re treating him really well and showing him a lot of good respect and stuff like that. So I’m definitely interested.” With Ohio State, Jones has heard good things about the Buckeyes, mostly from the experiences that Brown has had in Columbus so far.
