Mike Weber the Next Great Running Back at Ohio State?

This is definitely the case when it comes to having great running backs at Ohio State. The Buckeyes haven’t had a shortage of good running backs as long as I’ve been alive. Just this past decade alone, the stable of impressive running backs Ohio State has produced has been as good as any program in college football. From Antonio Pittman, to Chris “Beanie” Wells, to Carlos Hyde, and most recently Ezekiel Elliott, the school has set the standard at the position, as each of these backs were first-team All-Big Ten selections. The next guy in line to receive such accolades is red-shirt freshman tailback Mike Weber. There’s no doubt that Elliott left some rather large shoes for head coach Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes to fill, but someone has to do it. It looks as if Weber will be that guy. He was even projected to be Elliott’s backup prior to an unfortunate knee injury that sidelined him for all of his freshman season.
