Marotti building OSU’s young Players—Again

If you have been following Ohio State Football this offseason, many have speculated that because of a mass exodus of Ohio State players to the NFL, The Buckeyes will be in a “rebuilding” period and will lose a few games this year. This may be a true and valid observation, however, what many may not know is how fast Ohio State develops its players in their offseason conditioning programs. This is because of one intense man, Mickey Marotti.

Bodies by Marotti— A few years ago, Urban Meyer introduced Mickey Marotti as his most important football Coach. Why? Simply because this guy is a beast at sculpting young men. He is raw and in your face. Extremely intense and spurs unrivaled competition among OSU’s premier athletes. What doubters don’t realize is how this component of Meyer’s program is really the intrinsic form of creating the monsters OSU players have become.

In April, NFL scouts recognized what is going on behind the doors at OSU’s football complex. Picture in your mind grueling tire drills, sprints, and coaches screaming at their players to get that last rep. Yes, all football programs do this during the offseason, However, the NFL respects Marotti’s ability as a world fitness leader and master motivator of young people. When you have that coupled with highly ranked recruiting classes over the last few years, it’s exciting to think about how special Ohio State Football is right now. This was verified by having a record-breaking draft that “shocked” most experts. Ohio State may be young, but when you have the right motivation coupled with intense competition, the sky is the limit for these young, ambitious, and well-trained athletes.

Ohio State will be tested when they play Oklahoma early on. If they win that game, it can only enhance their chances to gain the confidence needed in their young team to really do something special. The critics may want to recognize that there is something special going on at Ohio State and this could be a “Shock The World” season for the Buckeyes.
