Girlfriend of Bri'onte Dunn to 911: 'My boyfriend hit me really bad'

Former Ohio State running back Bri’onte Dunn was dismissed from the program Monday for violating team rules. Now, we may know what the violation was. MORE: Top 40 college players | Top 16 programs since 2000 Dunn’s girlfriend told a 911 operator Sunday afternoon he hit her in the face and choked her, telling the dispatcher, “My boyfriend hit me really bad.” “My lip is bleeding and I have a black eye,” she added.  The 911 call was obtained by the Columbus Dispatch and, while Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer didn’t say why the senior running back was dismissed, it would seem the alleged assault was a factor. MORE: Top 25 running backs | Big 10 coach rankings According to the Dispatch, the woman filed for a civil protection order against Dunn on Monday in Franklin County Common Pleas Court, but criminal charges had not been filed as of Tuesday night.  Dunn was entering the final year of eligibility and was expected to compete for the starting job left vacant by Ezekiel Elliott, who was the fourth overall pick by the Cowboys in April’s NFL Draft. Dunn had 287 yards in three seasons, including 91 rushing yards last year, but averaged 6 yards per carry.
