(Photo: Matthew Emmons, Custom) CLEVELAND — Former Ohio State Buckeyes running back Ezekiel Elliott has yet to take a single carry in the National Football League, and yet, his popularity has soared to the top of the charts, according to a report from ESPN.com’s Darren Rovell. A second-team All-American rusher for the Buckeyes in 2015 who was known for wearing a crop-top uniform, Elliott had the highest jersey sales in the NFL from April through the end of June. Elliott’s jersey did not go on sale until April 28th, the night the Cowboys selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Elliott sold more jerseys than anyone in his rookie class, as well as New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady or Carolina Panthers signal-caller Cam Newton, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Elliott rushed for 3,961 yards and 43 touchdowns on 592 carries in his three years with the Buckeyes.
