Big Ten: Ohio State Buckeyes heavy favorites to win conference

The Ohio State Buckeyes may have lost the most NFL talent from a year ago, but media members have chosen J.T. Barrett and company to win the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are hailed as the team to beat for the second year in a row. Who cares that 16 starters moved on from the program that lost one game last season? On Friday, Cleveland.com released their annual preseason rankings. The votes were by 39 writers covering Big Ten football. The Buckeyes were a unanimous selection a year ago. They only received 27 votes in 2016. It’s an impressive feat for a team with tough competition ahead. The rest of the Big Ten wasn’t able to garner a single look. Despite the disparity, the conference is set to have an incredible season. The Buckeyes have a strong schedule, but their toughest games are at the end of the season. The young guys should develop by the time their rematch against Michigan State arrives.
