Ohio State picked to win Big Ten football title

The Big Ten media is wise in the ways of conference football.Well, we try, and if facts suggest otherwise, who needs facts when there are bold predictions to make. Thirty-nine members who cover the Big Ten for a living took a shot at predicting what will happen this coming season, and if we have been wrong in our previous five attempts, that leads to this obvious conclusion:Conspiracy!For the record, the Big Ten is the only major conference that does not have a preseason media poll. Doug Lesmerises of Cleveland.com stepped up to lead an unofficial poll these past five seasons.For this season Indiana is picked to finish fifth in the brutal Big Ten East, while Purdue earned a last-place vote.Ohio State was picked to win the Big Ten, which would almost certainly earn it a spot in the national championship playoffs. The Buckeyes received 27 of the 39 first-place votes, with Michigan getting 11 and Iowa one.Also for the record, Ohio State was the unanimous preseason favorite last season, but lost out to Michigan State thanks to a last-second home loss to the Spartans.In other words, the media just missed getting it right.So now you know.Also, Iowa was picked to…
