A couple of weeks back during Matt Underwood’s charity golf tournament at the Ashland Golf Club, two former Buckeyes tight end Jake Ballard and defensive back Nick Patterson, talked about the upcoming season and Buckeye quarterback J.T. Barrett. “From knowing coach Meyer’s thinking on competition is huge within his camp,” said former Buckeye DB Nick Patterson. “I know they have a good group of young guys. They have some great new quarterbacks coming in and I think they are going to push J.T. to improve his game and become even better. I think competition is never a bad thing.” For former OSU tight end Jake Ballard who played professionally for the New York Giants, New England Patriots and Arizona Cardinals, having some one back like Barrett is huge. “It’s tremendous.
