HOF16: Orlando Pace was on All-America team full of future Hall of Famers

Orlando Pace is the first member of the 1993 Parade All-America team to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He won’t be the last. One of the eight quarterbacks selected for that year’s team was a New Orleans native named Peyton Manning (Colts, Broncos), who is a lock to be enshrined once he’s eligible in 2021. Tight end Tony Gonzalez (Chiefs, Falcons) also has a strong first-ballot case in 2019. That 1993 team also has a few players who would qualify for the Hall of Very Good: Former Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, former Jaguars running back Fred Taylor. Former McKinley standout Che Bryant also made the 1993 team. He was one of six Ohioans selected, joining St. Ignatius quarterback Scott Mutryn, Ignatius lineman Mike Buzin, Springfield South receiver Dee Miller, Cincinnati Winton Woods DB Tony George and Pace. The player of the year was Evangel Christian quarterback Josh Booty, who was also chosen as the player of the year by the USA Today.
