Ohio State was named the No. 1 team in the All-Time AP College Football Poll.  For the first time ever, the Associated Press has compiled and released its all-time college football poll, and sitting atop it are the Ohio State Buckeyes.Ohio State took the No. 1 spot in the All-Time AP College Football Poll with a total of 1,112 points.To calculate each team’s point total, the AP utilized three factors – poll appearances, No. 1 rankings and AP championships. Poll appearances and No. 1 rankings were worth one point each, while teams were awarded 10 points for AP championships.More than 80 years worth of poll data was used to determine the all-time rankings.Ohio State totaled 105 No. 1 rankings and five AP championships. The Buckeyes best decade was the 1970s, while the worst was the 1940s.Ohio State’s 105 No. 1 rankings lead the nation, while Oklahoma checked in second with 100.5.The AP notes that there have only been three seasons in the poll’s 80 years in which Ohio State was not ranked at some point in the season.
