Paul Finebaum calls Alabama, Ohio State fans "almost interchangeable"

Paul Finebaum thinks he understands two of college football’s biggest fan bases pretty well. Finebaum’s ESPN radio show will now air in Columbus, Ohio, the home of Ohio State. In an interview with Cleveland.com’s Doug Lesmerises, the talk show host said he feels like he understands Buckeyes fans, because they remind him of another passionate fan base he knows well. “I think Ohio State fans and Alabama fans are almost interchangeable,” Finebaum said. “They both have great tradition, they both have the biggest and best of everything and they both have the two best coaches in college football.” Alabama and Ohio State have two of the biggest, most passionate fan bases in the country, which is where the comparison begins. As Finebaum noted, they also have the two coaches widely regarded as the best in the game: Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. They also have similar prestige and tradition.
