Urban Meyer is upset that Ohio State suspended one of his players

Urban Meyer is unhappy with Ohio State’s decision to suspend one of his players. The university announced the decision to suspend quarterback-turned-wide receiver Torrance Gibson from school on Monday. Ohio State did not give a reason for the decision, but said it was for a violation of the student conduct code. The suspension is for the fall semester. Meyer, who has led the Buckeyes to the Big Ten title in each of his first four seasons in Columbus, said Gibson’s ban was not football related. “I disagree with it,” said Meyer, who also won the 2014 national title. RotoExperts and the Daily News’ complete 2016 Fantasy Draft Kit Toledo TV station WTOL-11 reported that Gibson was suspended by the university after a former tutor claimed she was harassed by the red-shirt freshman. Gibson would have been in the mix at wide receiver for the Buckeyes, coaches said. Meyer refused further comment. Ohio State opens the 2016 campaign Saturday vs. Bowling Green at Ohio Stadium.
